History

Diverse Energy was launched in 2007 by a team of energy and telecommunications professionals with over 100 years of collective industry experience. They are the driving force behind Diverse Energy’s breakthrough PowerCube® which is changingthe way Mobile Network Operators and OEMs generate and consume energy in their fast growing off-grid infrastructures. The company is headquartered in the UK, privately held and operates internationally.

2009

Diverse Energy receives the “Next Big Thing” iaward from the British government and is selected for the Carbon Trust incubator programme.

Diverse Energy establishes key strategic partnerships with Balton CP, Nedstack, Afrox, and others.

2008

Production of PowerCubes® for off-grid field trials in key emerging markets.

Design and optimization of the complete PowerCube® using 7th generation system.

2007

Merger of AFS and FCC creates Diverse Energy Ltd.

5kW fuel cell system was shipped to India where it demonstrated India’s first Hydrogen powered house.

Completion of the proprietary anhydrous ammonia cracker and initiation of system longevity trials.

2003

AFS and FCC collaborated in a government-funded project to build a 5kW power unit for the first fuel cell powered house in the UK.

2001

AFS and FCC produced a new smaller fuel cell with fully automatic digital control. This was the first fuel cell unit to power an exhibition stand (Hannover Fair).

AFS achieved ISO 9002 and ISO 14001.

AFS was awarded the maximum £130,000 Department of Trade and Industry DTI ‘Smart’ Award to develop fuel cells.

1999

Alternative Fuel Systems Ltd (AFS) and Fuel Cell Control Ltd (FCC) collaborated to design and build a prototype alkaline fuel cell using a Zetek mark II stack. Five more concept-proving fuel cells were built to this design.
