DIVERSE ENERGY NAMED IAWARDS FINALIST FOR "THE NEXT BIG THING"

The iawards—the first government-led initiative to recognise and celebrate the best of British science, technology and innovation—today announced that Diverse Energy is one of three finalists for its “Next Big Thing” award. The award recognizes, among several categories, the role a new technology will play in preserving natural resources and addressing climate change. DIVERSE ENERGY FEATURED IN INTERNATIONAL AMMONIA REPORT

International ammonia market intelligence monitor FMB Group today featured Diverse Energy in its “FMB Weekly Ammonia Report,” highlighting the company’s novel use of ammonia as a fuel source. Over 100 million metrics tons of ammonia are consumed annually, primarily as fertilizer. 2.4 million metric tons of ammonia would be required if all existing off grid cellular phone towers were converted from diesel generators to PowerCubes.  Download the full report: FMB Weekly Ammonia Report 16July09.

DIVERSE ENERGY AWARDED £100,000 R&D GRANT
Diverse Energy has won a £100,000 research and development grant from One North East to further improve the proprietary anhydrous ammonia cracker technology used in the PowerCube. The grant runs for 6 months to July 2009 and will be used to improve cracker system efficiency and suitability for use with high-power fuel cell systems. One North East is a Regional Development Agency with responsibility for promoting sustainable economic development and technology innovation. Diverse Energy is working in partnership with the Centre for Process Innovation Ltd and Enterprise Europe Network North East in executing portions of the programme.

DIVERSE ENERGY AWARDED UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN “MAP” TEAM
Diverse Energy was awarded a “Multidisciplinary Action Project” (MAP) team this week by the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. Through this highly competitive program, a team of six MBA candidates will join Diverse Energy full-time for seven weeks in support of the company’s business development efforts and to assist in mapping out anhydrous ammonia supply strategies in early-adopter markets. DIVERSE ENERGY WINS AFRICACOM “FAST PITCH” COMPETITION
Dr. Alastair Livesey, Operations Director for Diverse Energy, delivered a winning company presentation today at AfricaCom at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. As a result of this award, Informa Telecoms and Media will provide the company with up to 4,000 Euros of in-kind services. AfricaCom brought together a total of 3,500 participants from 72 countries and a record 221 operator companies.

CAIRNEAGLE STUDY FINDS POWERCUBE OUTPERFORMS ALTERNATIVES
UK-based independent consultancy Cairneagle Associates completed a study last month verifying that in many off-grid situations, the PowerCube economically outperforms traditional diesel generator solutions. The study further reported that the PowerCube delivers better financial returns than solar/wind in almost all situations where these generation sources are viable.
